Sponsors in these 29 Florida counties received over 10,000 unaccompanied minors

(The Center Square) – In the past fiscal year, Florida received 10,542 unaccompanied children (UACs) from the border, many of whom were brought into the country illegally, according to data published by the U.S. Health and Human Services Department’s Office of Refugee Resettlement, tasked with oversight of and caring for the children.

Florida received the third greatest number behind Texas and California as it has almost every year. UAC data has been reported since fiscal 2015.

Report: Workforce development program is underutilized

(The Center Square) — Florida officials say a program designed to help workers gain more credentials to increase their earning potential isn’t being used as much as lawmakers intended.

The Florida Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability released a report this month saying that more workers need to utilize the workforce development program that helps students turn existing credentials into additional ones.

Quarterly tourism numbers eclipse state record

(The Center Square) — Florida officials say that the Sunshine State has set another record for tourism.

According to a news release from Gov. Ron DeSantis' office, visitation to the Sunshine State has set a record between July and September of 2023 with an estimated total of 35.1 million visitors.
