Citrus County wins 2022 WaterSense® Sustained Excellence award

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Citrus County with a 2022 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award for helping people save water.

Marion sheriff's office seeking kidnapping suspect

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public that can help to identify and locate a male suspect in an attempted kidnapping case.

On Thursday, September 22, at around 9:30 a.m., MCSO deputies responded to a report of an attempted abduction. The juvenile victim told the deputies that a man tried to force her into his vehicle while she was at a bus stop in the 14000 block of 202nd Terrace in Umatilla.

Citrus County voters pick winners, losers

Citrus County voters on Tuesday voted for their favorite candidates during the Aug. 23 primary election.

According to the Citrus County Supervisor of Elections, there are 120,239 registered voters and 31.43 percent of them turned out Also, 137,789 ballots were counted.

All votes have been counted in all 31 precincts, including votes by mail and early votes.

Joan and Wendall Crist have been locatedThe Marion County's Sheriff's office on Tuesday afternoon reported that an Ocala couple reported as missing have been found is safe.

The Citrus County and Marion County Sheriff's Offices were looking for the  couple, who went on a trip to visit family but apparently never made it to their destination.
