Citrus County wins 2022 WaterSense® Sustained Excellence award

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Citrus County with a 2022 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award for helping people save water.

Citrus County voters pick winners, losers

Citrus County voters on Tuesday voted for their favorite candidates during the Aug. 23 primary election.

According to the Citrus County Supervisor of Elections, there are 120,239 registered voters and 31.43 percent of them turned out Also, 137,789 ballots were counted.

All votes have been counted in all 31 precincts, including votes by mail and early votes.

Citrus Sertoman Mark Avery has been named Tournament Chair for the November 20, 2022 “Golf 4 Kids” Tournament at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club, the Oaks Course.

Mark has been with Citrus Sertoma for the past nineteen years and during his tenure has served as club president for five terms, sergeant at arms for five terms, chairman of the board for three terms and received his Tenure Award in 2013.

Missing Ocala couple found safe

Joan and Wendall Crist have been locatedThe Marion County's Sheriff's office on Tuesday afternoon reported that an Ocala couple reported as missing have been found is safe.

The Citrus County and Marion County Sheriff's Offices were looking for the  couple, who went on a trip to visit family but apparently never made it to their destination.
